Hi, my name is Mike Dallas. I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering. Professionally, I design and manage the implementation of industrial automated solutions for both packaging and chemical processing applications. You might be asking yourself, “What in the world does that have to do with pinball?” Well, probably more than you’d initially think. As a teenager I developed a fascination and great appreciation for mathematics, physics, science and the arts in general. Pinball for me is a medium that offers the perfect fusion of all these elements. It is the union of both left and right brain thinking, combining analytical skills with creative expression in order to produce a truly unique and addictive experience. So, when I’m not working as an engineer I’m either playing or working on pinball machines with the rest of the “PinballMikeD” Team.
Pinball provides a platform in which I can apply both my engineering and artistic aptitudes to the restoration of classic machines and the creation of custom designed pinball modifications. Growing up, my grandfather always told me that we are only good at what we like to do. Well, we (the PinballMikeD Team) love pinball and we are enthusiasts and collectors just like you. I am proud of the work we do here at PinballMikeD.com and I hope you can appreciate the quality, craftsmanship and countless hours that we invest in all of our pinball endeavors. Thanks for checking us out and feel free to contact me anytime.
Hi, my name is Rusty Stiles and like Mike D I’m also a graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. I remember pinball as a kid, but it wasn’t until I met Mike that I really developed an interest for the hobby. During my stint at UF, I had the opportunity to start my programming career modeling fluid dynamic distribution profiles for suspended nanotubes. Sounds exciting right? Anyway, one thing led to another and now I’m programming proficiently in multiple languages. When I met Mike and we started talking about programming as it relates to pinball applications we quickly came up with a conceptual design for the Creature LCD Mod. Now we’re scheming up other designs for future projects. Who knows, maybe I’ll program a new pinball machine someday.
Hi, my name is Barb Best and my life interest has always been art. From sketchbook to canvas to computer, I blend originality, color, balance and technique to enhance visual as well as user experience and create what is practical in nature and application. A professional Graphic Designer for more than 20 years, I rely on talent and practiced skill to communicate ideas and messages that satisfy needs. It is hard to believe my profession and love of art is realized yet again in the world of Pinball and in a team of accomplished individuals who bring a unique element, concept, and technical know-how to the hobby that we hope will result in products and services that appeal to avid pinball hobbyists and collectors. With some exposure to pinball as a kid, I share enthusiasm for the games with my husband Bob who reintroduced pinball to our family and son-in-law, Mike D. From there it has grown into a real appreciation of the intricate artwork and themes, fun-filled challenges of the games, and complex inner workings of the machines. It is exciting to be part of the “PinballMikeD” Team that strives to heighten the pinball experience and explore new ideas and endeavors that will, optimistically, leave you wanting more.
Hi, my name is Olivier Galliez. I’m a graduate of École Centrale de Marseille University in France. I’m currently living in the French Riviera where I work as a professional software and electronics designer. I have always been fascinated with pinball machines. Even as a kid I can remember asking myself, “How do these things work.” As a software and hardware developer, I’ve found a way to blend my profession and pinball hobby together through the creation of the “Pinball Browser” system. I’m happy to be a part of the PinballMikeD team and I’m sure we’ll create the best pinball MODs around!
Hi, my name is Jady Swinkels. I’m a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with years of experience in the light aircraft industry. I’ve also helped design and manufacture CNC routers as well as laser machines. I have been designing and fabricating things for 25 years, but what I’ve always really wanted to design/build is a pinball machine. My love for the silver ball started when I was a teenager and I’ve been playing ever since. I finally started my own collection back in 2010. Now I’m always dreaming up new ideas for pinball modification and improvements. My creative itch coupled with a 3D printer has given me the ability to turn ideas into reality. I’ve been developing and manufacturing my own MODs for several years now. Pinball is my passion, so when I design something I aim for the highest quality design. I want to build something that is strong and long lasting all with a mechanical twist. To sum things up – I call myself a “Pingineer.” So, when Mike contacted me to see if I was interested in joining the PMD team, there was no hesitation as I love what they do and I’m stoked to be part of the team. Let’s MOD.
